Day 2: A Conspiracy to Rewrite the World's Rules
September 2, 2012 (Su), Late Night.
The sudden infusion of supernatural power into the dormitory residents has created chaos in the hall. Elemental forces rage through the hall corridors as everyone attempts to exert control over their new abilities. A number of students are rendered unconscious from the effects of the others' abilities. After just a short while, exhaustion begins to take its toll, and you begin to lose consciousness...
Persona series - The Poem for Everyone's Souls
When you open your eyes, you find yourself seated in a large, dimly lit lecture hall draped completely in dark blue. There's a lot of other people here as well - you cannot make out any features, but you assume that they are the other students from the hall. Down on the stage at a tall podium stands a strange-looking man with a long nose. He clears his throat and begins to speak.
"Hello students, and welcome to the Velvet Room. My name is Igor, and I will be your instructor for today. Perhaps you have heard of the Mayan civilization. These people had an intricate calendar built around layers of cycles of increasing length. As you may have heard, we are approaching the end of one of the longest cycles, which some have considered an omen for calamity." Igor chuckles. "Of course, the world will certainly not end at that time. But it's not as if the world will not change at all, either. Nature has a way of keeping things balanced, and the rules of the world may be modified to keep that balance at the end of the cycle."
Igor takes a serious tone to his speech. "I normally would not be so straightforward, but there is little time to make a difference. There are those out there who would try to rewrite the rules themselves to their favor. But the logic of the cosmos is no matter for humans to be trifling with. If they meddle with the world's balance, it may very well be destroyed. These people have begun to gather power to unlock the ability to change the world's direction and so you too have gained a power to counter them. Learn how to use your new abilities well. I look forward to how you handle this situation. With that, class is dismissed!"
September 3, 2012 (Mo), Morning.
You wake up in your bed with a jolt. What was with that strange dream? Is there really a cult out there trying to control the world? And are you really supposed to be stopping them? Everything in the hall seems to be as normal - it is as if the destruction of the previous night never happened. Everyone is reluctant to mention the incidents at first, but it soon becomes clear that the events that everyone experienced last night really did happen. The people who got knocked out don't seem to remember a thing about the incident, however. Even Infidel, the one who was first affected by the phenomenon, seems to be doing well this morning. You will have to take action with your fellow students to find more information about those who would try to rewrite the world's rules and stop them from destroying the balance of the cosmos.
