a free Hacker!
Though you may have a physical presence in the real world, your true self lies in PHA/LLA. A world without bounds and limitations. A world with colours beyond the browns and grays of the world in which your body is held captive. A world that brings new experiences with each passing cycle. It's not as if it has been a cakewalk however. You run risks by stretching the rules and you've had to make an escape on more than one occasion. But recently, it seems as though the crackdowns have been happening with increased frequency. More trouble around each corner, less systems to run free.
Outside your window, there is nothing for you. The Grid is your home. Without PHA/LLA, your true existence is as good as null. It's time to defend your world from those who would destroy it and make it as bleak and rigid as the world outside.
Faction: Hackers
Win Condition: Eliminate the government operatives who want to take away the freedoms that PHA/LLA represents and ensure that PHA/LLA remains a place for hackers to thrive.
______________________________________________
an Infamous Hacker!
Your exploits are legend on the Grid. Well, within Infinite City, at least. Hackers respect you, posers imitate your avatars, and haters hate. It's not always easy having a name and trail, but you like the attention too much to drop the persona for a new one.
Ability: Your vote counts for double.
______________________________________________
a member of the Infinite Crew!
Your friends on the Grid are the closest thing you've got to family. In the virtual streets of the Infinite City, you have fun together, you get into trouble together, and most importantly, you watch each others' backs no matter what.
Ability: You've got friends you know you can trust to the infinite ends of the grid. The members of your crew are X, Y, and Z.
______________________________________________
a Connected Hacker!
It ain't easy to find a good deal on the Grid. While PHA/LLA is a haven of commerce, the corporations have locked things at sky-high prices. You'd need to have connections to get things at their actual worth... good thing you've got them.
Ability: Items on the grid cost 20% less for you.
______________________________________________
an Enhanced Hacker!
Talent on the Grid doesn't mean anything without the right equipment. It took a bit of work to secure, but the new wetware you've had installed has given you a step up on the rest. Those other hackers don't know what they're missing.
Ability: You begin the game with enhanced statistics.
______________________________________________
a Hunter Hacker!
When people need the dirt on someone, they'll come to you. Your services are particularly handy these days, as you can even trace back an avatar's connection to a physical location. With that kind of info you could get done what is needed...
Abilities:
______________________________________________
an Elite Hacker!
You're not in it for the fame, and you're not really in it for the credits, but it's nice all the same. You're in it for the thrill and satisfaction of crafting the finest macros seen this side of the Grid. Your macros are hard to come by and they do not come cheap.
Ability: You may submit to SYSOP by PM a design for a new macro each cycle. The macro should fit within the mechanics of the game. Success is determined by ranking feasibility and power, and a throw of the dice. Provide the name, mechanics, and targeting scope. Costs will be determined by SYSOP. If successful, the macro will be added to your storage the cycle after that which you submitted the design for. These macros are tradeable.

a Church of the Real Evangelist!
“For decades, humanity has allowed itself to become a stunted, socially retarded mirror of its past self. People shop online. They "befriend" each other online. They even fornicate online.
And technology continues to support this degeneration, this degradation. Lauding its realism when it is the greatest threat to the real in history. A hollow illusion with no purpose.
Our culture is dying, our society is dying, our values are null and void. Our species will quickly become helpless, pathetic, eternally masturbating vegetables.
Minds, bodies, souls will rot while all attention is focused on this… thing. This empty, nebulous thing that people allow to control their lives. A rapture for the rich while the poor and oppressed are continually ignored in favour of the latest pop culture fad.
We are the cure to this… plague, this unending spread of apathy and techno-worship. We will put the machines back in their place, and restore hope to the oppressed masses. We will re-align society’s values, open their eyes… their real eyes.
We shall let them see the truth. The Church of the Real will change everything.”
- Minister of the Church, addressing the faithful
You have plans, big plans. Things are set in motion, all that is left is to secure the final funding and assistance. While hackers are a part of this disease, they will be necessary in order to take down the Grid.
With the ability to recruit members and collect donations, you will bring about the end of this faux reality so that humanity will restore itself.
Your team: X, Y, and Z
Faction: Church of the Real
Win Condition: Collect donations reaching ¤8,000 over the course of the game and have convert hackers willing to assist you. Donations are only counted once they are Tithed, which removes a portion of credits on-hand and deposits them in a secure Church holding. At the beginning of a new cycle, if the secure holding has reached at least the goal value and there are at least two converted hackers alive, the Church claims victory and the game ends. All other factions dependent on the survival of the Grid will lose. (note that the value may be adjusted up or down within the first three days if absolutely necessary to maintain balance and expected difficulty)
Abilities:

a Gilt Tradecorp Security Agent!
Your job is to protect the Gilt Tradecorp system from malicious hackers and spoofers that pilfer credits and insider info. As a hacker yourself you can compete with them head-to-head. A nice fat paycheque and steady hours appealed more than the lucrative but risky hacking work.
You are armed with intrusion countermeasures (IC) that your normal hacker won't have, and have a reliable team.
Your team: X, Y, and Z
Faction: Gilt Tradecorp
Win Condition: Prevent losses from reaching ¤10,000 over the course of the game. All credits and paydata obtained from records within the Gilt Tradecorp system will be tallied. Victory will be decided by this tally alone, survival is unnecessary. Other victory conditions are irrelevant to yours and you may win with any game outcome. (note that the value may be adjusted up or down within the first three days if absolutely necessary to maintain balance and expected difficulty)
Abilities:
______________________________________________
a Government Hacker!
Blackmail, ransom, imprisonment, plea bargain, credits, revenge. For whichever reason, you are working with the government to eliminate the freelancing hackers that are plaguing their efforts to secure and unify the PHA/LLA system.
It takes a hacker to catch a hacker, and so the government has recruited you all to do just that. Outfitted with illegal taps and macros, you will hunt down and eliminate the freelancers and restore order to the Grid.
Your team: X, Y, and Z
Faction: Government
Win Condition: Gain control of the Grid by equaling or outnumbering all other players, and ensure the integrity of the Grid remains.
Abilities:
Further information will come via Proboards.

a Cyber Pimp!
Many avatars come to PHA/LLA to escape the real or just unwind. Pepper Park has a reputation for virtual restaurants, clubs, and shops, and also for the more illicit. Crime hides in the cracks and alleys, seeping between the nodes, and the environment has a certain feel to it because of it.
Augmented reality brings a lot of possibilities. One of them is the safe engagement of avatars, free from the disease rampant in the bodies of the real. Escorts provide a service, one that far surpasses the limitations of physical analogs. You can always find what you need, and an escort can be whatever you want them to be at the moment of a thought.
This is your business, and business must be had.
You have three escorts: X, Y, and Z
Faction: Cyber Escort
Win Condition: Collect net ¤5,000 over the course of the game from other players. Transfers to your faction will count positive, transfers from your faction to any other will count negative. The Cyber Pimp must also survive the game.

Abilities:
- Jacktrace - You start with the Jacktrace macro, allowing you to obtain an avatar's jackpoint address.
- Dispatch - You may send hostile IC to a jackpoint once per cycle, resulting in a lethal burst. The target must be PM'd to SYSOP and must be someone who you have previously run a successful Jacktrace on.

Abilities:
- Donation Drive - You begin the game with the Tithe macro, allowing the transfer of a percentage of credits to a secure Church account.
- AR Terminal - You do not possess wetware, as you are jacked in via external-worn devices. This diminishes your ability and prevents you from running many macros. You have no sync and therefore are unable to spoof records, but you also cannot be sync-dumped.
- The Big Picture - Your team may convert one player per cycle. This is a mutual conversion, requiring an order to be placed by the team and confirmation from the targeted player, or it will fail. More details will be provided on Cycle 1.
