Standard Roles
Penny Quarterly About two weeks ago, you started a part-time job at the local branch of Herald Bank as a teller, hoping to earn some extra income. It's been boring work, but you can't complain too much. Of course, when a couple cars come crashing through the front doors, that changes how exciting a job can be.
Astrid Corona As an astronomer employed with the Angeles Bay Observatory, you have aspirations for unlocking the secrets of the universe. It's hard work that few people understand, and when people confuse you for an astrologer, it takes all your effort to keep from lashing out at them. Then again, maybe if you were an astrologist, you would have known not to go to the bank today.
Lucida Valor You have been a proud member of the city fire department for many years. So when a crash was heard down the street from your station, you were the first to rush to the scene. This may have been a mistake.\

Special Roles
Richard Cox Known as the Lawyer of Legend, you have quite the reputation for overturning the odds and clearing your clients' names as a brilliant defense attorney. Some might even call you the "main character". And as the main character, it has to be your duty to defend the innocent and bring justice upon those who perform crimes.
Ability: As a defense attorney, you have the ability to take people to court. Each day, you may select a target to defend in the courts. When you defend your client, any positive evidence on them is neutralized: only negative evidence they have received will count in judgment. If you choose to defend yourself or you defend someone who is in truth guilty, the 'bonus' of your ability will not be counted. Failure to obtain a Not Guilty verdict will introduce a +2 evidence unit on your target for further trial dates.
To select a target, send me the name of the target as a reply to this message, including the day to which the target will apply.
Vincent Dix You are a brilliant, up-and-coming defense attorney. Your powers of persuasion are nearly unrivaled - some even say that your capabilities are on the level of Richard Cox, the Lawyer of Legend. With that kind of talk, it's strong motivation for you to show that you can stand with the best in the courts.
Ability: As a defense attorney, you have the ability to take people to court. Each day, you may select a target to defend in the courts. When you defend your client, any negative evidence on them is doubled in strength: positive evidence they have received will still count as normal in judgment.
Elle Orel You are a neophyte to the justice scene, having not yet had your first true battle in the courtroom. Unfortunately, with the botched bank heist, you've been thrown into quite the test for an attorney new to the system. But it's your job, it's what you've been seeking to do, and you've got to do it. Who knows, maybe you will be able to make a name for yourself out there.
Ability: As a defense attorney, you have the ability to take people to court. Each day, you may select a target to defend in the courts. Failure to obtain a Not Guilty verdict will introduce a +2 evidence unit on your target for further trial dates. If you are able to achieve a Not Guilty verdict on one of your clients, you will gain additional power to your ability.
To select a target, send me the name of the target as a reply to this message, including the day to which the target will apply.
Nathan Levy Prosecutor for Angeles Bay, your fearsome record has caused others to call you the Dragon of the Court. Your one goal is to bring to justice those who commit crimes and keep peace in the city. With the number of suspects in the bank heist case, there will be plenty of work ahead in the days to come.
Ability: As a prosecutor, you have the ability to take people to court. Each day, you may select a target to prosecute in the courts. When you present a case, any positive evidence on the target is doubled in strength; negative evidence still counts as normal. Failure to obtain a Guilty verdict will add a +2 evidence unit to the target for further trial dates.

Mafia Role PM
You are actually part of the group of criminals behind the heist at Herald Bank. A rag-tag team of sorts, all certainly did not go according to plan. Fortunately, it went so far out of plan that your tracks have been mostly covered. But on the other hand, there are still a lot of witnesses, and people will be looking for justice to be served. Panic hits the group, and it appears the only answer anyone can come up with is to place the blame on innocent others and silence the rest. It's somewhat absurd, but having come this far, what's a little more?
Your group consists of the following players: 38thDoe, Langly, Mr. Defecation, Munkus Beaver, REG Rysk, Rend, SeGaTai, SLyM, The Anonymous, Wildcat
Abilities: As a group, you may eliminate one player from the game each day. For this kill, if you correctly note the chosen target's role, you may make this kill unblockable.
Your group may also gain an additional daily kill by providing to me a name for your group. This additional kill will be given on the day the name of your organization is received; this kill cannot be modified to be unblockable.
Win Condition: The number in your group must equal or outnumber that of the remaining players.

Ability Updates
Mafia disadvantage, after first day's kills.
Abilities Update!
With your organization name settled, "B:L and the Evil Eight", you have the confidence to take out two kills per day. On the other hand, your group has learned that murder is a whole different business than bank robbery. As messy as your failed heist was, getting someone's blood out of their body is even messier.
As such, the person who submits the daily order for the group each day will take a +2 evidence unit if one group kill is specified, or a +3 evidence unit if both group kills are utilized. This applies retroactively to the kills used on Day 1 as well as all future orders.
Defense/Prosecutor advantage, after losing two defense lawyers/prosecutors (combined).
Ability Update!
The situation looks bleak, with losses on both sides of the table. And the criminals are still out there, trying to silence all witnesses. What is needed is the truth. The truth will answer all, and to find it, you'll need to be a bit more flexible.
Starting today, you may voluntarily suppress your special ability when bringing another player to court: positive and negative evidence on that person will both count as normal. If no special designation is given, I will assume that you are using your abilities to their fullest.
Role Investigator upgrade, after a previously scanned player shows up as mafia (this was never deployed)
Ability Update!
Recent news has made you realize that the criminals are all around you, hiding. While you have been able to investigate peoples' identities, you have yet been able to perceive their intentions. But an insight hits you as you take in the day's information... with a bit more effort, perhaps you'll be able to pinpoint the ones responsible for the recent string of crime.
Starting today, your ability will also reveal a player's alignment as well as their role. This does not retroactively apply to previous days' results, which includes the result that has been given just before this ability update.
